MANDIBULAR IMPLANT-RETAINED OVERDENTURE : DESIGN AND CHRONOLOGY OF TREATMENT

The realization of an implant-retained ovendenture, as conceived by the dental team of the University Paris 5, requires the preliminary fabrication of a conventional complete denture, which satisfies quality criteria and serves as the project prosthesis. Based on that, a duplicate will successively serve as a radiographic guide and a surgical guide for the placement of 2 implants.
Various possibilities are presented for the use of either ball attachments or bars, associated with a relining of the existing denture or the fabrication of a new denture using the guide again, this time as an occlusally adapted impression tray.
